    microsoft defender threats reported

    Defender is popping up a message saying it has detected threats. However when I go into defender there are no current threats. What is it detecting?

      Apparently another MS screw up falsely detecting Win32/Hive.ZY.

      A bad Microsoft Defender signature update mistakenly detects Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Discord, and other Electron apps as 'Win32/Hive.ZY' each time the apps are opened in Windows.

          I have avg ultimate which I believe takes over from defender

            New defender update released overnight appears to fix it. All is fine this morning.
            If you have AVG Yes windows defender should be disabled.
