Comes on by itself when you shut the door.
No electronic board just a timer. Have to open door to get it to stop or, I guess, turn it to an Off position on the timer.
Bad timer? On/Off switch? Lid switch by any chance?
It supposedly stops at end of cycles.

You haven't tried turning the timer to off to see what happens?!?

Sounds like the turn/push to start switch is welded closed.

I have not tried it in the off position. I had removed the cord and was taking it and the washer back to the seller when I decided to keep them and try to repair them.
I had wondered about contacts in the timer being welded together.
I will check that out today.

Welded closed contacts in the timer *should* keep the dryer running in the off position....but normally *shouldn't* allow the dryer to turn on...on it's own.
