Dryer Cord and Plug Problems
In the last few years, I have seen an increase in problems with the power cord and cord plug receptacle. Some common complaints have been "odour of burning"....."dryer is dead"....."running with no heat"....."intermittent running"..... Note, the burnt plug prong on the bottom 1/2 of the picture, usually both the cord and cord plug receptacle must be replaced. Remove power and check for this problem if you encounter any of the complaints mentioned above.

Dryer Drum Belt Problems
If your drum belt looks like either of these...change it:
Outlet Wiring Help
The most commonly used outlet receptacle for an Electric range and Dryer plug is an 4 wire outlet. This should help you tell what wire goes where when installing this receptacle.
Look for the markings GND, W or white, X & Y on the back of the receptacle.
Changing from a 3 to 4 wire hookup on an electric dryer.
